Anna has had over 20 years’ experience teaching musicianship and the piano. Since graduating from Sydney Conservatorium of Music, with a B. Mus. Ed. (major instrument: piano), she has been involved in music education in a variety of contexts.
Anna has taught music to pre-school aged children through to high school classrooms; directed choir and instrumental ensembles; and coached and accompanied students for exams. She is currently teaching singing and instrumental programmes in several primary schools.
Anna is passionate about her students experiencing all the advantages music brings - from its joy, to the developmental benefits of creativity, listening and concentration.
Anna trained in Germany mainly in the Orff-Schulwerk approach. Anna has been teaching at Mitchell Conservatorium in Bathurst since 1992. She initiated Early Childhood Classes at our Lithgow Division for 3 to 9 year olds in 1995, including tuned percussion and recorder. She has prepared children for instrumental demonstration concerts.
Anna completed her Bachelor of Education (Primary) at the University of New England in 2003.
Anna teaches recorder and classical guitar and is the Director of Mitchell Conservatorium's Recorder Ensemble.
