Lachlan Piano Teachers

James Whalan

James started teaching with the Mitchell Conservatorium in July 2015.

Music has being an integral part of James’ life since his high school days, being involved in the school choir and school band.

After school, James has been involved with the local theatre company in Parkes in a number of aspects, from stage work, direction and musical direction, to set design and front of house duties.

James has studied music at the Australian Institute of Music, focusing on Musical Theatre, as well as through the Regional Partnership Program with Central Queensland University, majoring in classical vocals.

A lover of all music, James particularly enjoys Musical Theatre and Operetta. He believes that music is a pivotal component to everybody’s lives, be it as a musician, vocalist, audience member or through listening to music. Music is one of the greatest ways to express oneself.

James has also joined our administration team, accepting the role of Regional Coordinator of the Lachlan Campus in March 2017 and is the bandmaster of the Forbes Town & District Band.

Hannah Glennan

Hannah studied both trombone and euphonium, as well as 7th grade piano.

She teaches in the Forbes and Parkes region after growing up in that area, and currently plays trombone in the Forbes Town Band.

She had studied Musicianship through all exams and also studied at Red Bend Catholic College where she was in the band and vocal group.

Hannah has completed her studies in Speech Pathology at Charles Sturt University in Albury and Newcastle.

A mother of a two year old daughter and one on the way, this country music fan is a wonderful asset to our Lachlan campus.
